Argentina and Australia will face off in the second Round of 16 match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
After placing second in Brazil 2014, the Albicelestes were eliminated from the group stage of FIFA 2018 in Russia.
Australia has advanced past the group stage for the first time since 2006 at this tournament.
This is actually their first opportunity to advance to the quarterfinals.
‘Go in with lot of belief’: Australia coach
Australia’s coach Graham Arnold says Argentina "brings out the best" from his side.
"I know our performances every time against Argentina has been very strong and very good," the 59-year-old told reporters on Friday.
"We go into the game with a lot of belief and a lot of energy and focus on ourselves and our job," the former Australia international said.
But more than anybody else, they've learnt not to dismiss a challenger, particularly the valiant Socceroos on Saturday.
Argentina's opening-round loss to Saudi Arabia was one of the greatest shocks in World Cup history, but they recovered their composure to cruise through Mexico and Poland and into the round of 16.
Australia, which is placed 35 places below Argentina, has already outperformed expectations by winning twice to secure a spot at one of the most important games in their history at Qatar's Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium.
Argentina will be on guard against another surprise when they face Australia in the World Cup Round of 16 at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium in Qatar.
In what is said to be his final World Cup, Lionel Messi has already been on the wrong end of a major shock when La Albiceleste lost to Saudi Arabia 2-1 in their opening game.
